Extreme LandscapesLive composition for screen dance installation, Dance City (Feb 2015)

Project Info

Having worked on the score for Krummi (see Projects page) I was asked by a collective of screen dance directors to perform a live composition for an installation comprising of three pieces. The pieces were shot in separate, unique locations around the world.

The composition was an exercise in provoking accidents and letting serendipity take its course. I imported clips into an Ableton Live set comprising of different tempo's, time signatures and key signatures, and reacted to the visuals using effects routing and filters. Despite what the introductory credits for the first dance piece state, all the music in this performance is mine.

Here are the results, with thanks to the captain.
